Christopher Klinga, P.E., Principal & Founder
As a 12-year industry veteran, Chris brings a unique skill-set to architectural solar applications. He has an extensive background in solar installation design and product development.
His career started by developing cutting-edge solar modules and racking systems at Lumos Solar. Chris’s innovations enabled Lumos to lead the niche market that they established and their products are distributed globally today.
Chris has a tireless passion for tackling the most challenging solar installations and product development opportunities. He regularly provides consulting services across a wide array of solar installation projects and products.
In addition to being the Principal and Founder of Solmotiv Design, Chris serves as the Technical Director of the Architectural Solar Association, and holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado in Boulder, CO. He has obtained NABCEP PV Installer certification, and is a licensed professional engineer in Colorado and Texas.
When Chris isn’t integrating solar into the architectural envelope, he is most likely climbing, biking, or backcountry skiing with his wife and two sons. (LinkedIn Profile)
Ross Cooper, Design Engineer I
Originally hailing from the Green Mountain state, Ross is a rising star at Solmotiv and contributes to many of the company’s projects.
Recently, Ross helped fabricate Solmotiv’s off-grid LED light assemblies at the West Colfax Typha bus stop, and implemented the solar controller circuits and battery boxes that power the lights. Ross also produces designs, models and prototypes for commercial products. (LinkedIn Profile)
